TYPES OF SALT YOU SHOULD AVOID

Salt is salt, right? Nope.

Not all types of salt are the same. In fact, it comes in different shapes, colors and sizes!

The different salt varieties depend on its place of origin, refined with other “impurities”, the size of its grains, color and texture. There are also further variations of salt depending on the brand and price point.

With all the different types of salt available, should we be consuming some varieties over others? The answer is yes! Not all salts are created equal.

Here’s the Top Salts to Avoid

Iodized Table Salt

This type of salt is the most commonly sold and most commonly used. The common table salt is iodized which contains small amounts of sodium iodide or potassium iodide. It's basic table salt that has been sprayed with potassium iodate. It looks and tastes the same but unfortunately, it’s not all-natural and the majority of table salt used nowadays is iodized. Most commercial salts, also often contain additives, such as aluminum compounds to prevent caking.

Organic Salt

“Organic" salt products, which are flooding the market for the sake of wild earnings, are nothing more than the sham. Not only are they expensive but they’re not even natural! Organic products has a label that tells us that it has an organic certification. This means that it follows the rules and meets the standards of production and cultivation that humans set. Natural is what nature offers us, without any human intervention. It does not follow rules we humans have set. It is just nature, doing what it knows best.

Himalayan Salt

Generally speaking, a mined substance consumed by humans, implies dangers. It may be virtually impossible for mined salt to get contaminated with bacteria, but this rule does not apply to the case of asbestos or radio active materials. Unfortunately, salt tends to absorb radioactivity so it’s unavoidable! The area where the Himalayan salt is mined, is relatively close to all the well-known nuclear reactions of our century. Apart from that, the very existence of salt in certain areas could be linked to some radioactive reaction of the past. I don’t know about you but I’m not taking any chances!

I am not much of a conspiracy theory person, but there is something about these facts that makes me feel uncomfortable. So I switched over to Greek sea salts which are all-natural and hand-harvested for the best quality. My body and health is important to me and so are the ingredients I put into my body. It gives me the energy from its minerals and the flavor is amazing!

I hope you’ll find this information helpful and realize that not all salts are the same. If you haven’t already, give organic and Himalayan salts the boot!
